Scaling together, makes us better!

Today we got to scale eachothers mouths. It was cool to finally get in there and see (or try) to see what calculus looks like. Emilie has too clean of a mouth. But I was able to see some tiny spots and get them off which was even better! I almost feel like I wasn't even doing anything because I was not going subgingival. I am so used to going in the gingiva with probing and exploring that I felt as if I wasn't doing anything. I think it was a nice change of pace to not have to worry as much about making my patient bleed. I also passed off probing PE. I need to do a better walking stroke, but I do think I am beginning to grasp the concept. Hopefully the correct one. I practice at home, but I sometimes think that I am practicing it wrong. But it is coming.
